We just received our new countertop water filterfrom Aquasana today. Hook-up was a snap, it only took about a minute to connect it. After a minute or two of letting it run we started getting some great tasting water. I can’t believe we didn’t do this sooner as my wife and I added up the cost of buying bottled water and were dumbfounded! We couldn’t believe we were spending that much a year on bottled water. When you are trying to finalize the details for the big Baby Shower, You want everything to be perfect. You certainly want your guests to enjoy themselves. There is nothing better than a big bowl of homemade chili and cornbread on a cold fall day. While there are just as many recipes for this bean dish as there are cooks, here’s my favorite chili recipe. It’s fast and easy and you can easily modify the types of beans and spices you use to suit your taste. I like to start mine early in the day so it can simmer on the stove for a few hours before we eat it. This allows all the flavors to blend. We all remember sitting in boring English classes being lectured about how important writing is. We were bored to death about how to use the comma, quotation marks and semi-colons. We were taught about how a sentence works, how a paragraph works and how paragraphs are arranged together to make a cogent essay. We were all taught the same formulas on how to do this, and yet all writing is different.

So few people write the same since not all of us practice writing in the same way. Not all of us want to write well and not all of us know how to improve our own writing. We all get taught the same rules about how to write and, as students, we are all given the same topics to write about, but every teacher can tell you no two students write the same. So, if we’re all taught the same, what makes us all different? Practice.

Better writing, and therefore better writers, is made not by following rules, but by putting them into practice. It sounds simple enough, but the more a person writes, the better her or she becomes at it. A good writer knows when to break rules of writing and when not to. A good writer knows the point of writing is not following rules, but communicating effectively.

With summertime, your children want to be outdoors.  You want to be sure their education continues.  One way to meet both objectives is to take more outdoor education trips.  This can be as simple as going to the nearest zoo or botanical garden.  But if those are not going to be options where you live, just going into your backyard with a bug or butterfly book can be a tremendous learning experience.  Teach them also to identify different plants and trees.  There is so much to learn from nature – all we need to do is look and explore.

I am excited about the opportunity to enjoy support and fellowship with other Christian home school families in the area. As a home educator I enjoy the opportunity of quality time at home with my kids. However, some things that are just more fun in groups! Prime examples of events best enjoyed as a group include: Play Days , Field Trips, Mom’s Night Out, and Holiday Parties.  So, that�s what we offer here!

CAHE was founded to support and encourage parents who are dedicated to educating and guiding their children to grow in wisdom and character for the Glory of God.  We are a Christian group but we are not a church organization.  Therefore we will not be denominational.  No religious squabbles are allowed.  Since we are a private group that meets in person, not just online, we ask that all new members please post a brief introduction, in the CAHE forum within a week of joining so that we may get to know you

We are a  Christian Home Schooling Support Group located in Chandler, Texas and encompassing the surrounding areas. We are here to encourage and lift one another everyday with all of our home schooling, house cleaning, kid raising, husband helping, garden tending, craft making, trials and joys.

We have scheduled Play Days, Holiday Parties, Field Trips, Special Needs support and Mom’s Night Out. We also have just some wonderful fellowship and support for Home Educators. This is where we Parents/Teachers come for encouragement, curriculum advice, answers to our questions, and to also find out what is going on in our area. We plan our events to fit the needs and interests of our members.
